THE PROGRAM
The Doshisha Merton Advocacy Network Initiative (DOMANI) is an initiative brought by the law students of Merton College, Oxford and Doshisha University, Japan. Its objective is to provide law students with academic skills in a novel setting. Since 2021, the participants of the DOMANI Workshop were extended to include the law students of the Hong Kong University, Brawijaya University, and De La Salle University of the Philippines.
The International Relations Office (IRO) would like to invite Brawijaya law students and junior law lecturers to participate in the 2022 DOMANI Workshop. It will give the opportunity to them to learn and practice the techniques of cross-examination on witnesses and evidences in a tribunal in order to help win a case. The workshop will be tutored by internationally well-known and experienced lawyers, mediators, arbitrators, and law lecturers.
The 2022 DOMANI Workshop will be held at the Merton College in the University of Oxford, UK, and organized by the Halsbury Society (Merton College law students society) and Doshisha University on 19, 20 & 21 September 2022.
THE BRAWIJAYA PARTICIPANTS
Three participants (either students or junior lecturers) will be selected and receive funding from the Faculty of Law, Brawijaya University for the following expenses:
- Round-trip airline ticket
- Accommodation and living allowance in the UK during the Program
The applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Law students of Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs of the years 2018 until 2020
- Junior Law Lecturers (who have not obtained Doctorate degree)
- Prohibited to graduate and take the comprehensive/final exam until the end of the Program on 30 September 2022 (please complete and sign “Surat Perjanjian” provided in the link below)
- Minimum GPA of 3.25 (proven by a legalized transcript)
- At least two years old TOEFL score of min. 550 issued by an institution recognized by the Brawijaya University
- Pass the selection and interview process
- Submit Surat Perjanjian, the latest academic transcript (legalized), TOEFL score, surat izin orang tua, and (if available) a copy of ID page of your Passport no later than 18 July 2022 via google form. See link below:
