Malang (29/6/2015) Two law students of Universitas Brawijaya participated in the conference of TIJ Youth Forum 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand from 3 – 6 june 2015 early last month. TIJ Youth Forum 2015 is established thanks to the cooperation between Thailand Institute of Justice along with the Asian Society of International Law by taking the theme of “The Rule of Law and Development Nexus: A new deal for asia?“. The students were Gina Sabrina (2013) and Jenuarani Artha (2013), the conference was attended by dozens of students from various countries, including Singapore, Myanmar, Thailand, Japan, Bangladesh.
Gina Sabrina explained that much experience they acquire during follow these activities, including the importance of the role of law to provide access to justice to the people of a country. Besides, she explained that this kind of activity is a platform to add connections and network with colleagues from various countries who would be very useful in today’s globalization era. She advised her students peer to not afraid to follow the international activities like this, “a learner is a person who is always looking for opportunities and the chance to try, if I could do it means other friends can also do it” she affirm.
International event such as the Youth Forum activities TIJ 2015 is one of the platform that can be used by students,to improve the network as well to dig useful knowledge gained through experience. In addition of course, this kind of activity is indirectly introduced Indonesia, especially UB in the international arena. Held in conjunction with the Asian Society of International Law, the conference was taking the grand theme “The Rule of Law and Development Nexus : A New Deal for Asia”, this Youth Forum aims to promote better understanding of the Rule of Law, the culture of lawfulness and the interrelationship between the Rule of Law and sustainable development as well as engaging youth in the mission of mainstreaming the Rule of Law in Asian society.
